Financial support and development of entrepreneurship
RDA PORIN efforts are continuously focused on improving business climate and culture towards micro, small and medium companies as well as the large ones. With this goal in mind, we conduct activities which support the growth and development of such companies, innovations, training, new employment, and ways of finding sources of financing and of attracting investors. The expertise of the employees of RDA PORIN, together with their cooperation with other consultants makes such work possible.
Systematic Entrepreneurship
Systematic Entrepreneurship brings together several different subsidies; therefore there is an opportunity for entrepreneurs from the PGC area to boost their development by implementing the following activities:
- Growth and development of small business: increasing the quality of all work processes, governance and management of a company, training, etc.
- Enterprise networking
- Initiatives for new clusters: design, tourism, car trade
- Supporting the existing ones (wood, metal, IT)
- Getting involved in local and international projects and networking into similar associations
- Supporting other forms of association (cooperatives, etc.)
- Internationalisation of Croatian companies: initiating export consortia, appearing on trade fairs, fostering economic exchange and searching for partners
- Consulting and informing of the entrepreneurs
- Young people and women in entrepreneurship
- Drafting investment studies, feasibility studies and business plans
Entrepreneurial Infrastructure
Within RDA PORIN there is a support system for entrepreneurs that is endorsed by the Town of Rijeka; especially emphasizing the use of business incubators which provide overall spatial, administrative, technical and advisory support for incubated enterprises, as well as other companies. Therefore, we have a strong entrepreneurial infrastructure that includes:
- Entrepreneurial incubator for service industry Torpedo
- Entrepreneurial incubator for manufacturing industry Rujevica
The continuous work on incubating new companies and working with existing users of entrepreneurial incubators creates new opportunities which could contribute to the competitiveness of the subjects themselves and the region as a whole. Monitoring incubated companies and the results of their business activities will be conducted this year as well.
Management and human resource development
In need of the more intense development of economy and institutions, as well as the needed increase in the skills and knowledge which are necessary for entrepreneurs to be able to more effectively operate business and be more competitive in the market, we carry out activities to help develop human resources in the PGC. Such activities include the following:
- Training program for start-up and existing enterprises
- Supply and demand of labor markets for different target groups
- Training for persons from various institutions.
By cooperating with experts from different areas of work we will make possible the quality realization of educational programs.
Entrepreneurial education
RDA PORIN organizes seminars where start-up entrepreneurs can learn how to evolve their idea into a concrete business venture, and the entrepreneurs who are already in a line of business can learn how to improve their business activities and achieve growth and development. Students are given the opportunity to acquire knowledge about the registration of enterprises, institutions and programs that support entrepreneurship, business plan development, financial statements analysis, project management, marketing, human resources management and the use of various computer programs. Since 2002, RDA PORIN has been authorized by the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship to conduct seminars for entrepreneurs based on the curriculum of the Ministry. Owing to the support by the Ministry and Primorsko-goranska County, seminars for students are either free of charge or held at affordable prices.
